Renovation of kitchenettes at Delphi, Ulrikedal and Vildanden
Most of the kitchenette-apartments at AF Bostäder are built during the 1960´s and 70's and have since then not undergone any major interior renovations. In order to meet the required maintenance as well as modern standards and functions a general renovation-project, covering totally 327 apartments, has been launched.
All kitchenettes at Delphi Magistratsvägen 55 will be renovated during autumn 2011. At Ulrikedal we will have renovated all kitchenettes till the summer of 2013 and at Vildanden, we will be ready by autumn 2014. Work will be performed in stages of 8-10 apartments in a rolling schedule.
The renovation procedure is so extensive and so dusty/noisy that it is not possible to live in the apartment during the renovation. Instead, all tenants will be offered an equivalent apartment or a free choice of available apartments via an upgraded queue position.
The kitchens in the old kitchenettes have a number of functional faults such as a cooker that is too small, fridges without freezers, no place for a microwave oven, etc. There are also faults in the ventilation system and some ventilation channels need replacement.
In 2009 a pilot project started to find the best design for kitchens, where different designs and materials were tested. The pilot project has since been the basis for further planning. Each residential area starts with a pilot phase in which the particular needs of the area is tested.
