The best, cheapest, quickest, and liveliest way of getting into student life is to live in what we call a ’corridor room’. This means that you have your own room, with your own ‘front door’, which you can lock just as if you were in an apartment. You also have your own toilet and, in most cases, a shower, too.
These rooms lie along a corridor (hence the name) with several neighbours on the same floor. Corridor rooms have access to one or two common kitchens serving 6-26 tenants. The kitchen is equipped to match the number of tenants served, and often has several cookers and freezers. Part of the kitchen area/ living room is included in your room rental.
Apartments have their own kitchen or cooking area (kitchenette without dining area) and no shared facilities. You need to supply your own household utensils.
