Lund’s own Marathon
What a great location! Marathon is in the middle of the Science Road on the corner of Tornavägen and Tunavägen, close to both the campus and the center of Lund. The location is perfect for students and offers close proximity to places such as the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) and Sparta. The area is known for its densification and variation and is designed so that everyone gets as much daylight as possible. The focus is on sustainability, energy consumption is low and the area is both green and 100% car-free. The Marathon area also includes the well-known Torvlabbet, a building designed by architect Klas Anshelm that has a high architectural value. At present, Torvlabbet houses a laundry room and cycle repair facilities.
In total, Marathon offers 250 apartments with various layouts, divided between one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, and providing space for 390 students. The one-bedroom apartments are best for those who want to live on their own, the two-bedroom apartments are equally suitable for a couple or friends and the three-bed apartments are perfect for 2–3 friends who want to live together. The bedrooms in apartments for friends have space for both a bed and study station.
Marathon is a perfect student housing area – a pulsating place in central Lund, marked by greenery, movement, meetings, socializing, and life on two wheels. Here you have a view of everything that Lund has to offer, and by bike or on foot you can easily reach every part of the city and all the University’s departments. Some of them are very close by, as is Sparta – a shopping center and meeting point for many of Lund’s students with facilities such as a gym, supermarket, café, and pizzeria. Lund’s complete range of city services is within walking distance.
The rent includes electricity, hot water, detergent, storage, a designated place in the cycle rack, and internet bandwidth of 1 GB. There is no TV outlet.
At AF Bostäder you live in a smoke-free environment. Smoking is prohibited both in the accommodation and shared spaces such as stairwells and laundry rooms.
