The TV network will be shut down – new solution in corridor kitchens
On 30 June 2025, we will shut down the remaining TV sockets in our student housing areas. In corridor kitchens, the current setup will be replaced by a new and improved TV service delivered via the broadband connection.
Few of our tenants still watch traditional broadcast TV. Most prefer to watch TV, films and clips online when and how it suits them. That’s also why our newly built student housing no longer includes TV sockets.
At the same time, a major technical shift is taking place that requires significant resources but will not change the viewing experience. Due to the low interest and the scale of the technical changes, we have decided to shut down the remaining TV sockets on 30 June this year.
In corridor kitchens, there is greater interest in shared TV viewing. There, we will offer a new and more future-proof solution via the broadband network, with a channel line-up that is better suited to today’s students.
