Next year’s rent set for 6,200 Lund students

The increase follows the steady rent development of recent years, which enables long-term investments in essential maintenance.

“A large part of our property portfolio was built in the 1960s and 1970s, and the need for maintenance is substantial,” says Henrik Krantz, CEO of AF Bostäder.

Among the many projects planned for 2026 are the replacement of sewer pipes in several housing areas, as well as window replacements and roof renovations.

At the same time, AF Bostäder continues its long-term development of new student housing. In 2026, Troja at Kämnärsrätten in northern Lund will be completed. The area, the largest student housing project in Lund for more than 50 years, will accommodate no fewer than 500 students. Troja marks the final stage in the development of northern Europe’s largest student housing area, where over 1,500 new homes have been built over the past decade.

“Through our investments at Kämnärsrätten, we are meeting the housing needs of future generations and strengthening Lund’s attractiveness as a university city,” says Henrik Krantz.

The economic challenges of recent years continue to affect AF Bostäder in 2026, with rising costs for heating and water, among other things.

“Our mission remains the same. We will continue to offer Lund students Sweden’s best student housing,” says Henrik Krantz.
