Here you can see the shortest queue times by housing type (corridor rooms and one-to four-room apartments) for the approximately 3,600 student homes we rented out during 2024.
We rent out around 3,600 homes each year. Of these, 1,200 are corridor rooms and one-room-apartments reserved with priority for new students who live outside Skåne – a system known as novisch priority. All novisch student housing is rented out with no queue time. You can read more about our novisch priority here.
The queue time for other student housing depends on several factors, mainly the applicant’s own preferences. Applicants with similar wishes to many others – such as a specific apartment size and floor level in a certain housing area – may need to wait longer. Fewer preferences generally mean a shorter queue time. In general, queue times are shortest at the end of the semester, when demand is lower and more homes become available.
Below, we provide an overview of the shortest queue times based on our 2024 statistics to help active applicants without novisch priority get a sense of what to expect. Please note that these figures are not a guarantee for when you might receive a housing offer. Specific preferences often result in longer queue times – but don’t give up! We have Sweden’s most satisfied student tenants, and even if you need to compromise on your preferences, chances are good that you’ll enjoy your new student home.
Good luck with your housing search!
The information below is based on housing data from 2024 and may vary from year to year. Rhodos is newly built and has had too few re-lets to be included in the statistics.
*Pireus is also newly built and currently lacks sufficient data for reliable statistics.
Corridor rooms
In addition to the many corridor rooms rented out each year to new students with novisch priority, we have around 800 that are rented out without it. For most of these, a queue time of less than 6 months is sufficient. That means there is a good chance of getting a corridor room already in your first semester in Lund, even without novisch priority. The corridor rooms at Magasinet and Tomegapsgården require a longer queue time due to fewer rooms and higher demand.

1 room and kitchen
Around 600 one-room apartments are rented out each year without novisch priority. Most of these can be obtained with a queue time of 6–12 months. These apartments are usually easiest to get at the end of the spring semester.

2 rooms and kitchen
We rent out 500 two-room apartments annually. There is a good chance of getting one within your first year as a housing applicant. At Proto, Pireus and Hippocampus, the shortest queue time is 6–12 months. In most other areas, the shortest queue time is 12–24 months.

3 rooms and kitchen
We rent out around 200 three-room apartments each year. For most of these, the shortest queue time is 12–24 months. At Proto, it may be even shorter. Queue times are usually shortest during the summer.

4 rooms and kitchen
We rent out around 50 four-room apartments per year. For most of these, the shortest queue time is 12–24 months. However, queue times are longer at Sparta and Ulrikedal. As with other apartment types, queue times are typically shortest during the summer.
