Rhodos wins the Student Housing Award 2024
Rhodos has been named the winner of the Student Housing Award 2024. The award, presented by Studentbostadsföretagen, highlights innovation, sustainability, and design in newly built student housing. The jury particularly praised Rhodos' innovative design, diverse range of housing options, and low climate impact.
"Rhodos provides a home where students can truly thrive. It offers a variety of well-designed housing options to suit different needs, and its low climate impact sets a benchmark for the entire sector," says Stina Olén, CEO of Studentbostadsföretagen and chair of the jury.
"Rhodos is the result of a decade of learning and experience in developing sustainable student housing. It is incredibly rewarding to see students settling into a warm, welcoming, and green living environment - designed for both social interaction and biodiversity - while also achieving impressive figures for energy consumption and climate impact. This is how student housing should be. Seeing our vision recognised with the Student Housing Award is truly inspiring and reinforces our commitment to driving sustainable initiatives that benefit both Lund’s students and the wider community," says Henrik Krantz, CEO of AF Bostäder.
Jury's statement:
Rhodos brings together form and function to create an attractive, sustainable, and well-thought-out living space for today’s students. The housing is designed with a strong focus on both people and the environment. With a diverse range of housing types to accommodate different life situations, Rhodos embraces individual needs while fostering a sense of community. The project stands out for its innovative approach to ecological sustainability and its impressively low climate impact. Attention to detail is evident throughout, creating an outstanding and cohesive whole.
A huge thank you to White Arkitekter, NIMAB, our dedicated colleagues, the board, and everyone involved in making Rhodos a reality.
